What is CollectCue?+

CollectCue is a lightweight document request workflow for small bookkeeping firms. It helps teams request client documents, track what is missing, send reminders, and review uploads.

Is CollectCue a full client portal?+

No. CollectCue is intentionally lighter than a full client portal. Clients can use simple upload links without creating an account.

CollectCue is built for small bookkeeping firms and teams that repeatedly chase monthly client documents.

Do clients need an account?+

No. Clients can open a request-specific upload link and send documents without creating an account.

Can clients upload files from email links?+

Yes. Reminder emails can include a request-specific upload link for the document request.

What file types are supported?+

The MVP supports PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, JPG, JPEG, and PNG files. ZIP and HEIC are not included in the first version.

Can we send reminders automatically?+

Yes. CollectCue is designed to send friendly email reminders for missing items.

Can multiple contacts receive reminders?+

Yes. A client can have multiple contacts, and each contact can be configured to receive requests and reminders.

Can reminders be paused?+

Yes. Teams can pause reminders for a request when they are waiting on something or handling the follow-up manually.

Billing

Is there a free forever plan?+

No. CollectCue starts with a 30-day free trial with Pro limits. Firms can subscribe anytime during the trial, or choose a paid plan when it ends. The trial is not a paid Pro subscription.

What happens after the 30-day trial?+

Firms can subscribe to Starter, Growth, or Pro at any time during the trial. If they do not subscribe early, they choose a plan when the trial ends.

What counts as a reminder email?+

First request and reminder emails count by recipient. For example, one reminder sent to three contacts counts as three emails.

Can clients mark something as not applicable?+

Yes. Clients can request that an item be marked not applicable for the period, and the bookkeeping team can review that request.

Can uploaded files be reviewed before closing a request?+

Yes. Uploaded files remain Uploaded / Pending review until staff records the item as Received after review. If review finds a problem, the item moves to Needs reupload.
