Build the next-action list

Add up to 12 document categories and select the current status of each one. The action plan updates immediately and keeps client action, staff review, completed outcomes, and uncertain statuses separate.

Private to this pageEntries are not saved to LocalStorage, cookies, the URL, or a database, and are not included in analytics events.

Document statuses

Use document categories only. Do not enter client names, emails, account numbers, file contents, or private links.

Standalone planning onlyThis is a standalone planning tool. It does not connect to or update your CollectCue workspace. It does not send reminders, create requests, review files, or change real client statuses.

What this planner does

This tool turns statuses entered manually into a planning view. It does not inspect files or infer what happened in a real request.

Interactive planner

Use the page when you need a quick next-action list. Change a status and the client, staff, resolved, and manual-check groups update immediately.

Excel tracker

Use the separate Excel template when you need a manually maintained record with dates, owners, reminders, and notes. The workbook does not sync with this planner or CollectCue.

Workflow guide

Use the follow-up workflow guide when you need process guidance for reviewing status, choosing reminder timing, escalating blockers, and recording outcomes.

CollectCue workspace

Use CollectCue for real client document requests, uploads, reminders, staff review, reupload, and status management. This free planner remains separate from the product workspace.

Status guide

Choose the status that is already true. Uploaded and Received are different, and a requested not-applicable outcome is not approved until staff confirms it.

Plan the follow-up without changing client records

The planner is intentionally narrow: it organizes the information you enter and leaves every real client, file, request, and approval untouched.

What stays on this page

  • Document category names and selected statuses are held only in the current page state.
  • The planner does not save entries in LocalStorage, cookies, URL parameters, or a database.
  • Document names and selected statuses are not included in analytics events.
  • Reset example restores fictional data; Clear all removes every row from the current page.

What the planner never decides

  • It does not decide that a reminder must be sent merely because an item is Waiting on client.
  • It does not treat Uploaded / Pending review as Received or keep chasing that item while staff review is pending.
  • It does not approve a Not applicable requested status or treat it as resolved.
  • It does not review authenticity, validate documents, perform bookkeeping, or close a client request.

How the follow-up planner works

Use the smallest amount of non-sensitive information needed to decide who should look at each item next.

  1. 1Add document categoriesChoose a suggested category or type a non-sensitive label. Do not enter client names, account details, file contents, or private links.
  2. 2Select current statusesChoose the status that is already true for each item. If the status cannot be verified, use Not sure instead of assuming it is waiting on the client.
  3. 3Review every responsibility groupClient action and staff review can appear at the same time. Review both groups before deciding what to do outside the planner.
  4. 4Copy and verify the action planCopy the plain-text list for internal planning, then verify the real request before sending reminders or updating any client record.

Client document follow-up planner FAQ

These answers explain the planner's privacy boundary, status rules, and relationship to CollectCue and the Excel tracker.

Does the planner connect to my CollectCue workspace?+

No. This is a standalone planning tool. It does not connect to, read from, or update a CollectCue workspace, and it does not create requests or send reminders.

Does the planner save document names or statuses?+

No. Entries are used only in the current browser page state. The tool does not write them to LocalStorage, cookies, URL parameters, or a database, and it does not include them in analytics events.

Is Uploaded / Pending review the same as Received?+

No. Uploaded / Pending review means the file arrived and staff still needs to review it. Received is recorded only after staff accepts the file or records the requested item as received through the existing manual process.

Is Not applicable requested automatically approved?+

No. Not applicable requested stays in Staff review needed. It becomes Not applicable — approved only after staff confirms that the item does not apply for the period.

What is the difference between this planner and the Excel tracker?+

The planner creates a live next-action list from the statuses on this page. The Excel tracker is a downloadable record for manually maintaining request, due-date, owner, reminder, review, and notes fields. Neither tool syncs automatically with CollectCue.

Does the planner verify files or perform bookkeeping?+

No. It does not open, review, validate, approve, or verify a file, and it does not perform accounting or bookkeeping. Staff must check the real request and source documents outside this planner.

Move real document requests into CollectCue

CollectCue supports real client document requests, request-specific uploads, reminders for unresolved client-action items, staff review, reupload, and status management. It does not automatically approve files or perform bookkeeping.
